Product Description

This CONFEDERATE RAILROADS Currency of The American Civil War uncirculated U.S. $2 Bill is Genuine Authentic Legal Tender of the United States, which has been enhanced with beautiful colorized images on top of a New $2 Bill. The Confederate States of America printed their own paper money during the Civil War, from 1861 to 1864. A total of 70 different types were issued into circulation. Almost every Confederate note was painstakingly hand signed and numbered.

Seen on several Confederate notes were images of railroads. The American Civil War was the first in which large armies depended heavily on railroads to bring supplies. For the Confederate State Army, the system was fragile and was designed for short hauls of cotton to the nearest river or ocean port. During the war, new parts were hard to obtain, the system deteriorated from overuse and lack of maintenance due to manpower shortage, and as Union troops moved South, they sabotaged the rails by pulling them up, heating them until they could bend, and wrapping them around tree trunks to make what were called Sherman's Neckties.

Each bill comes displayed in a blue folio with a Certificate of Authenticity to guarantee that your bills are authentic and recognized by every monetary authority around the world, therefore assuring its Collector Edition status. Each $2 Bill is in FRESH, CRISP, UNCIRCULATED condition, and was directly removed from untouched wrapped Federal Reserve sealed packs.
