Featuring a highly collectible limited edition 2009 First Day of Issue President Abraham Lincoln set of 4 Bicentennial U.S. Stamps and Pictorial Envelope Postmarked Covers. The U.S. Postal Service commemorates the 200th anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865), who rose from humble, frontier origins to become a prominent lawyer and politician and ultimately President of the United States.

The four First-Class commemorative 42-cent stamps were created by Mark Summers. Summers is noted for his scratchboard technique, a style distinguished by a dense network of lines etched with exquisite precision. Each stamp features a different aspect of Lincoln’s life. These different times in his life include Lincoln as a rail-splitter, lawyer, politician, and President of the United States. Each stamp comes on a beautiful pictorial envelope which is postmarked on the first day of issue in Springfield, Illinois. These stamps were dedicated at the Old State Capitol in Springfield, IL, by Postmaster General John Potter and Assistant Majority Leader Senator Richard J. Durbin (D-IL).
